Electric Power Consumption of Feed Drive System for NC Machine Tools

Abstract

To reduce the electric power consumption is strong demand in these years. This study focused on to the electric power consumption of feed drive systems for NC machine tools. In order to clarify the factors which influence the power consumption, electric power consumptions of an NC machine tool are measured under various cutting and rapid feed motions. It is also measured under difference servo gains and time constant parameters of NC servo controls in acceleration-deceleration motions.
