Abstract
It was found that the crystal orientation membrane, which is exposed to ion beam, can orient liquid crystal. This process can reduce a static electricity and debris, which are induced in the usual rubbing methods, to realize a display with higher resolution. In this study, the orientation of liquid crystal on polyimide, which was irradiated by Ar beam, was examined. The beam energy was higher than the previous studies.
