Abstract
There are a great many researches for automatic conversion of line drawings into solid models. However, they cannot apply to all of objects drawn in sketches. In this paper, a bottom-up approach method is proposed for the conversion. Since top-down approaches were used in traditional methods, the shapes of objects drawn in the sketches were limited strictly. In our method, complex shaped objects can be automatically generated from sketches by extracting primitives and machining features from the sketches repeatedly. So, cubic, cylindrical, conical objects can be applied in the method.
