Abstract
The strength of composite materials is strongly affected by the wettability of fiber to the matrix material. This research aims to make clear the guideline for the improvement of the fiber wettability with plasma treatment. To make clear the effect of plasma treatment including directionality, fine droplet was put on a polypropylene (PP) single fiber using jet-type dispenser. Then the contact angle was calculated based on the captured image. The influence of plasma processing time, its directionality and cross-sectional profile of the fiber on the contact angle were made clear.
