Abstract
The servitization process of a product manufacturer into a provider of a PSS still constitutes a major managerial challenge. This challenge is based on a new kind of solution, which considers the continuum between services and products, where services represent a key element for gaining competitiveness. As a consequence, different competences are requested to be analysed to have a complete vision of the PSS phenomenon. In this scenario, Universities, both in terms of research and education, have to provide new knwoledge and competencies to service managers and companies. The ASAP Service Management Forum (SMF) has been created with the aim to develop new and updated culture on the PSS concept and also to share “good practices” among different industrial sectors in the Italian context. To reach this purpose different initiatives have been developed in the last years under the ASAP SMF umbrella. A short overview is provided.
