Abstract
Electroplated diamond wire tool is widely employed for brittle materials, such as silicon, sapphire, etc. However, the production cost of electroplated wire tool is high because the electroplating time is long and the manufacturing speed is too low. In this study, a drum-type manufacturing equipment of electroplated diamond wire tool was developed. The effect of different fin shape and rotating direction on diamond distribution was investigated. The experimental results revealed that the developed drum-type equipment is able to manufacture diamond wire tool at high speed.
