Abstract
Inclusions in a bearing steel can cause rolling contact fatigue failure because it leads stress consentration and crack generation. In this study, we focusd on 3D shapes of inclusions and their influences on the fatigue failure. We developed a novel framework of analyzing a 3D geometric shapes of internal micro-structure of steel materials. Our analysis indicated that concavity of inclusion shapes caused crack initiation.
