Abstract
Machining method by combining EDM and grinding with a rotary PCD disc wheel can be precisely machined to cemented carbide using only a single tool. In this study, when a single PCD segment is mounted to the rotating axis on the EDM machine, we proposed to use this tool as a discharge electrode and a finish grinding wheel. From the processing experimental results of cemented carbide by using this tool, it is clarified that electrodes is non consumable in the case of electrical discharge machining, and furthermore the finish surfaces on the cemented carbide after grinding is improved.
