Abstract
MQL, Minimum Quantity Lubrication, has been developed and applied for practical use in metal machining process mainly in the automotive industry for environmental reason. Typical work materials are carbon steel, aluminum and cast iron. Meanwhile in recent years led by the aircraft industry, the use of ceramics has been studied for high heat resistance and / or high abrasion resistance. Therefore, we measured the grinding resistance and tool wear for basic grinding technology development for the free-form shape creation on alumina ceramics with the aid of MQL technology in the study.
