Abstract
Grinding force distributions were measured by the variations of the grinding force in the vertical face grinding of cemented carbide alloy, and it was observed that adhesion of the workpiece material on the grinding working surface of the wheel where the large value of the grinding force distribution occurs. Normal and tangential grinding forces are larger with larger of the setting depth of cut, and over the 100 micron of the setting depth of cut, steady grinding state does not occur, furthermore, with the progress of the grinding volume, both of the grinding forces are rise up constantly. This might be caused by the adhesive phenomenon of the workpiece material on the working surface of the grinding force, therefore the apparent setting depth of cut is increasing gradually.
