Abstract
Resurfacing paved roads is necessary and therefore, efficient road inspection methods are important in civil engineering. Recent advances in mobile 3D mapping technology makes us possible to represent a cityscape by 3D point sets. Estimating deviation of the segmented points from its representative plane is useful for road inspection. In this research, we propose an efficient segmentation framework for a road point set by using the simple geometric models.
