Abstract
The Digital Eco-Factory to support planning of production line configuration and operation is proposed by the authors. A Digital Eco-Factory is a virtual factory on which a production scenario is examined from a productivity view, manufacturability view and environmental view. In this paper, the operation planning of the production line is supported by observing the electric power consumption of each piece of equipment and constructing the line through simulation on the virtual factory. The equipment is modeled including its behavior and is installed in the virtual production line as a software agent which is called a machine agent. For power consumption simulation with high accuracy, a machine agent is embedded with the equation for power consumption corresponding to the behavior model which incorporates the operation states of the equipment. In the virtual factory the produced product is installed as software agent which is called a product agent. A product agent leads the production control to the completion of the product.
