Abstract

We have fabricated a three-layer transparent device, that will encapsulate single cells and eject them in parallel after encapsulation. Micro device consists of three layers: a) Cell channel, that includes the cell path and trapping chamber, where cell will be trapped because of overhang structure and specific design of device. b) Pneumatic channel, pressure will be applied via pneumatic channel once cells are encapsulated in trapped chamber, and this applied pressure will deflect the variable membrane that work as valve. c) Openings, opening are designed next to trapping chamber and can be actuated by the deflection of variable membrane. openings are made for parallel ejection of encapsulated cells. Since this device is made of SU8 and PDMS hence it is transparent. Because of its transparency, cell and liquid can be observed in real time.To encapsulate the single cells, first cell will be flown into the cell channel at this time opening will be kept closed by deflection of variable membrane, now once cells are trapped into the channel, oil will be flown to the same direction to encapsulate the cells and after encapsulation opening will be opened and cell will be ejected parallel.
