Abstract

MTF(Modulation Transfer Function) represents the resolution of optical imaging system as the spatial frequency characteristic. The slanted-edge method specified in ISO 12233 is commonly used for measuring the MTF, but it causes an error due to the binning process for uniformizing the unequally spaced subpixel data. We propose a binning-less slanted-edge method based on the frequency domain analysis, and verify the advantageousness through comparing it with existing methods.
