Abstract

Changes in gait have been reported in several diseases such as Parkinson's disease and spinocerebellar degeneration. One of the causes is thought to be the loss of muscle tone regulation function. In this study, we conducted forward dynamics simulations using a neuromusculoskeletal model to investigate the effects of changes in muscle tone on gait. The musculoskeletal model was made to walk with a control model that can regulate muscle tone. By changing the magnitude of muscle tone, different gait patterns were generated, indicating the possibility that muscle tone changes gait.
