Abstract

In this study, a sensor layer consisting of a one-dimensional array of strain gages mounted on a phosphor bronze plate andembedded in a polyurethane foam was proposed as a sensor for embedding in car seats to measure body pressuredistribution. The optimal sensor embedding depth and sensor spacing were investigated by conducting compression tests andrestoring the deformation distribution using the sensor.
