Personal Identification by Face Image Recognition using MT System(1)

－Personal Identification and Similarity Diagnosis using MT Method－

Abstract

As people have become highly seculity conscious in recent years, personal identification technology is receiving increasing attention. Various personal identification technologies have been proposed. This study examines a method of personal identification from face images alone, using the MT system. The diagnostic capabilities of the MT system are also used to study facial similarity. The results show that personal identification with adequate precision is feasible by use of a unit space defined by extracting feature points from face images. The feasibility of facial similarity diagnosis is also demonstrated, and various application directions are discussed.
