Abstract
In the manufacturing of dry developers for copy machines and printers,lt is important that colorants and charge control agents are homogeneously dispersed and strongly bound together with binding resins. Traditionally, these properties have been evaluated either by the quality of the finished products or by the quality characteristics of the copied image, although the properties are heavily related to the operating conditions in the earlier manufacturing stages, namely, the material mixing process and the kneading process. In this report, the relation between stress and strain was measured from samples prepared after mixing and kneading processes to evaluate the dispersion and binding force of materials. As a result,we have successfully developed the manufacturing technology improved the product quality.
