Abstract
The result of mechanical tests of 203 arc welded metals which deposited from coated electrodes, carried out by the Committee of the Japan Welding Society for Testing Coated Electrode of Mild Steel, are quantitatively studied by statistical method. Coefficient of correlation and correlation ratio of impact value ves tensile tensile strength, elongation and elongation mutipled by tensile strength are caluculated as follow :
Coefficient of Correlation
Correlation ratio
Impact value ves Elongation 0.433 0.531 0.577
Impact value ves Tensile strength 0.192 0.506 0.356
Impact, value ves Elongation × Tensil strength 0.487 0, 577 0.610
Above figures show that the impact value of deposit metal can be assumed from the value of tensile strength thultipled by elangation which approximately, proportional to the breaking energy.
