Crack Tests of Electrodes

Abstract

Two methodes are proposed to test crackability of electrodes for structural steels. Test pieces are shown rn Figs 1 and 4 respectively 1st method is a crack test by fillet welding and 2nd method by fixed V joint welding. Correlations are found between their test results
It has been experienced that electrodes which passed these tests ate free from cracks ih practical shop welding
