Study of the Gas Welding Rod of Cast Iron. (1st Rep.)

Abstract

The research on gas welding of cast iron has been Carried on aiming a rapid forming of a greater deal of graphite on the deposit metal increasing ferrite ón it.
The following result were obtained using the welding rod containing (Si+Al)% of 3, 4, .5, 6, and 7%.
(1) With (Al+Si)=3.0-4.3% welding rod is easily made.
(2) If the amount of Al exceeds 2% the welding operation become difficult.
(3) The greater the contain of (Al+Si)%. the welding results the greater deal of graphite and smoother snrface.
(4) With addition of Al, the products are machined with ease.
(5) Weldability is good.
