Prediction and its Consideration about Cooling Times to Low Temperature due to Welding and Local Preheating with Gas Flame

Abstract

To select the preheating condition for prevention of weld cold cracking, it is necessary to know the cooling time from peak to a low temperature as about 100 or 50°C. Therefore, nomographs were made to estimate the cooling time to a low temperature and preheating time, etc. in case of welding with local preheating. Appropriate values were obtained from these, nnmoeranhs.
