Abstract
An algorithm for the inverse heat conduction problem in welding on the quasi stationary state has been discussed in this paper.
An optimization problem of the temperature field during welding has been proposed in order to estimate the distribution of heat inputs and/or the penetration shape. In the expression of the problem, the analytical solution of the heat flow equation are applied for the estimation of temperature field, and the objective function is defined as the difference between the calculated and the measured temperature.
The convex programming method are applied to solve the optimization problem.
As the result of this work, it is made clear that the proposed method is useful for the estimation of the efficiency of heat source and the temperature error at target point make it difficult to estimate the distribution of heat input accurately.
