Abstract
The "fool proof" methods are adapted in various manufacturing process to prevent the troubles due to human error. But they are almost applied to the troubles which have happened. Namely, one offen don't notice latent human error in his work systems until they cause quality claims and accidents concerned in safty, though these possibilities must be anticipated and their countermeasure must be carried out before hand. In this article authors try to apply the thought of EMEA to this problem and discuss how to find out latent hazard of human errors and evaluate the necessity of fool proofs. This method contains 4 procedures ;
(1) Decomposition of work systems
(2) Listing of latent human errors in each of them
(3) Evaluating of these effects and the necessity of fool proofs
(4) Planning of fool proofs
Some examples are contained.
