Abstract
The characteristics of the three components composing the liquid function potential (LJP) between electrolyte solutions in different solvents have been reviewed based on the results obtained by the author and his coworkers. The results by the author's group are briefly compared with those by other research groups. Some of the supposed dynamic aspects that may influence the characteristics of the LJP arediscussed. In connection with this, the transient behavior of the LJP between solutions in the same solvent is outlined.
