Abstract
Shoulder movement in 'combing hair' and 'making knot in back' was analysed in order to clarify the factors making these positions. 95 healthy shoulders with contracture were examined. Three angles in combing hair were measured. These are 1)the horizontal adduction angle, 2)the arm-trunk angle and 3)the elbow flexion angle. Five angles in making knot in back were measured. These are 1) the horizontal abduction angle, 2) the abduction angle on the coronal plane, 3) the extension angle on the sagital plane, 4)the elbow flextion angle and 5)the distance from C7 to thumb. In combing hair, involved shoulders showed decrease of the arm-trunk angle and increase of the elbow flexion angle. Abduction angle and external rotation angle play an important part in combing hair. In making knot in back, involved shoulders showed increase of horizontal abduction angle and the distance from C7 to thumb and decrease of the abduction angle on the coronal plane and the elbow flexion angle. Maximum internal rotation angle play an important part in making knot in back.
