Abstract
Two adult patients with intussusception due to intestinal lipoma were reported. Excision of the ileocecum was undertaken for lipoma of the ileal end in Patient 1. Partial excision of the ascending colon was undertaken for lipoma of the ascending colon in Patient 2. There are many cases where the presence of intestinal lipoma is unknown before the occurrence of the complication of intussusception, etc. Even in surgical cases, it is difficult to make a preoperative diagnosis. The correlation between intestinal lipoma and intussusception was studied with reference to the past literature. The importance of a coil ring appearance in CT and multiple concentric shadows on the echogram in diagnosis of intussusception was also discussed.
