Abstract
Urachal cancer is a very rare adenocarcinoma of the urinary bladder and never reported to be associated with the other cancer.
An 80-year-old female consulted our hospital complaining of macro-hematiuria and anemia. A tumor of the urinary bladder was suspected and cystoscopic biopsy and pelvic CT revealed an adenocarcinoma of the urinary bladder. Gastrointestinal series indicated an early gastric cancer, type IIa+IIc.
Subtotal gastrectomy and partial cystectomy were performed curatively, and pathological and immunological examination confirmed that the urinary bladder tumor was urachal cancer.
Local recurrence of urachal cancer was detected on the 57th postoperative day accompanied with an elevation in serum CEA level.
