Abstract
We experienced a case of early gastric cancer (IIa+IIc) and cholelithiasis associated with polycythemia vera. A 74-year-old male has been being treated for polycythemia vera for about fifteen years. Upper gastrointestinal X-ray film and endoscopic examination revealed a protruded tumor with irregular central depression on the posterior wall of the lower middle stomach. Abdominal ultrasonography showed a strong echo with acoustic shadow in the gallbladder. Distal partial gastrectomy (Billroth I) with R1 dissection and cholecystectomy were carried out. The patient got through the risky postoperative period without serious complications such as bleeding tendency and thrombotic tendency.
