Abstract
In the last one year, antenatal diagnosis was successfully made by ultrasonography in 6 cases. The patients were comprised of 2 with ovarian cyst, 3 with intestinal atresia and one with congenital diaphragmatic hernia. In this paper these 6 cases are described, as well as 3 of the 6 cases of intestinal atresia are compared with 14 cases of the disease, which were experienced before, for time interval to operation from the birth and preoperative decreasing rate in body weight. Three antenatally diagnosed cases could receive operation in earlier period with more favorable general condition compared to the other patients group. Antenatal diagnosis may permit more suitable perinatal management and better results for neonates necessitating surgical treatment.
