Abstract
Werner's syndrome, a relatively rare disease, is known to be often complicated with malignant tumor. This paper reports on a case of breast cancer as a complication in Werner's syndrome. A 38-year-old female visited the department because of a tumor in her right breast. The tumor was diagnosed as breast cancer by palpation, mammography, ultrasonography and puncture aspiration cytologic examination. Patey's procedure was performed, while preserving the greater pectoral muscle. After two weeks of a favorable postoperative course, the patient was discharged. Werner's syndrome is more often complicated with sarcomas than carcinomas; also, there are very few reports of breast cancer complication.
