Abstract
We recently encountered a patient with bile duct hamartoma. The patient was a 63-year-old man admitted with a chief complaint of bloody stools. Barium enema and endoscopy revealed constriction of the human of the rectum. Sonography and CT of the liver demonstrated multiple nodules. Angiography and tumor marker findings were unremarkable. The preoperative diagnosis was metastatic liver tumor from rectal cancer, and surgery was performed. The histological diagnosis wals duct hamartoma, also known pathologically as von-Meyenburg complex. This is a relatively common incidental autopsy finding, but clinical case reports are rare. Bile duct hamartoma is often multifocal and may be mistaken for metastatic carcinoma.
