Abstract

A case of perianal skin metastasis of cancer of he sigmoid colon wrongly diagnosed as perianal abscess is reported.
A 58-year-old man have been treated for his perianal skin tumor diagnosed as abscess with his home-doctor for about 8 months. A colonoscopic examination was done, because the lesion hardly healable. As a result, a tumor was found at the sigmoid colon. The patient was referred to the hospital, Histological studies revealed that the tumor of the sigmoid colon was well-differentiated adenocarcinoma, and the perianal skin tumor was its metastasis. Then, rectal amputation inculding both lesions, was performed. Histological examination is useful for atypical skin tumor or abscess, because they are possibly metastasis of internal cancer.
