Abstract

We encountered two cases of malignant lymphoma arising in the small intestine growing into the pelvic cavity. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance image showed a large abdominal tumor with cystic areas in the plevic cavity, containing luminal structure of the small intestine with swallowing contrast medium. Tumors were resected surgically under a diagnosis of small intestinal tumor. Histologically, these two tumors wer non Hodgikin's malignant lymphoma. In both cases, adjuvant chemotherapy was performed postoperatively. The second patient developed multiple brain metastasis 4 month after the initial operation. By radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the metastatic lesions decreased in numbers and in size significantly leading to a temporal recovery of neurological findings. However, 7 month after the initial operation the patient died of multiple lung metastasis. In the first case, there has been no evidence of any recurrence.
