Abstract
We report a resecteced case of synchrous hepatoceller carcinoma and esophagial carcinoma following a uvulectomy for a uvula carcinoma. A 58-year-old man who underwent a uvulectomy for a uvula carcinoma had an increased level of α-fetoprotein one month after the operation. He was diagnosed as having a liver cancer with the size of 3cm in S2 by abdominoal CT and AOG. As a previous history of uvula carcinoma is a risk factor for esophagial carcinoma, endoscopic examination of the esophagus was performed, and antother carcinoma was found out in the middle esophagus. Partial hepatectomy for the liver cancer and esophagectomy for the esophagial carcinoma were successfully performed simultaneously. We think to have to an operative procedure with less surgical stress for resecting synchrous double cancer of the liver and esophagus aftger through and strict evaluation of clinical stage and prognosis of the cancera.
