Abstract
A 49-year-old woman came to our hospital with right lower abdominal pain. Barium enema examination showed stenosis in the cecum. She was thus admitted to the hospital. Physical examination revealed a tenderness but no tumor mass in the right lower abdomen. Abdominal computed tomography showed the wall thickness of the ileocecal lesion and confirmed the absence of liver metastases. We performed a right hemicolectomy. Microscopic examination showed adenodquamous carcinoma with no lymph node metastases. She has been well with no recurrence for ndarly five years, to date, since the operation.
Primary adenosquamous carcinoma of the colon is a rare tumor and accounts for 0.1% of all colorectal carcinomas. We report this case with a discussion of the relevant literature.
