Abstract
A 7-year-old boy admitted for right lower abdominal pain did not improve with conservative treatment. He underwent an appendectomy based on a diagnosis of suspected appendicitis 4 days after onset. Operative diagnosis was Meckel's diverticulitis. He reported ongoing abdominal pain after surgery. He had arthralgia and specific purpura on both lower extremities 3 days after surgery. He was diagnosed with Schönlein-Henoch purpura and treated medically.
Although both Schönlein-Henoch purpura and Meckel's diverticulitis are important in the differen-tial diagnosis of appendicitis, a case of Schönlein-Henoch purpura associated with Meckel's diverticulitis has not, to our knowledge, been reported in the literature.
