Primary renal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma presenting as massive macrohematuria and bladder tamponade

Abstract

A 43-year-old man with macrohematuria and anuresis was admitted, and diagnosed as having bladder tamponade due to coagulates. Abdominal ultrasonography and computed tomography revealed bilateral renal tumors. Bilateral renal arteriography showed hypovascular lesions. Percutaneous needle biopsy of the left renal tumor was performed, and the final diagnosis was non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (diffuse mixed, B cell type, CSII_A). After six courses of chemotherapy, the tumor lesions were markedly reduced, and at present there is no evidence of recurrence.
