Abstract

The prediction of cohesive mud deposits erosion rate is important information for civil engineers. However, to calculate an actual amount of erosion at the time of flood, the necessity for considering the effect by cohesive mud deposits formed on the river bed surface has been caused. Cohesive mud deposits formed on the river bed has a major influence on the erosion phenomenon at the time of flood. Therefore, many researchers are grappling from various angles with this problem.

The erosion process of cohesive mud deposits in river channel was studied using annular flume. In this study, it has aimed to clarify how the amount of cohesive mud deposits erosion changes by the water content ratio experimentally. Results of an experimental study on the rate of cohesive mud deposits erosion in the annular flume are described.
