Abstract

Cross-section surveying has been conducted every two to five years in a first class river. The data have a large amount of information, and they were mainly used for river channel planning. In this study, it was investigated to apply the data to improving river maintenance works more efficient and effective, and setting riverbed condition for simulation of riverbed change. As a result, the data can be used for determining sections where intensive maintenance works should be implemented because of decreasing of discharge capacity, concerning local scouring and forestation and so on. Additionally, thickness of riverbed sediment can be estimated at each section differently, which would contribute to improve accuracy of numerical simulation.
