Abstract

A specific ground vibration was observed when huge sediment disaster occured in Izu Ohshima, in Oct., 2013. However we have poorly understood relationship between ground vibration and debris flow. In this study, we examined fundamental characteristics of ground vibration induced by debris flow and slope failures. For this, we analysed data set of ground vibration measured by seismometer at Izu Ohshima and Nigiso during the sediment disaster. The results indicated that the energy spectral of ground vibration in debris flow and slope failures was dominant in 1 - 10 Hz in Izu Oshima and 10Hz- in Nagiso, respectively. This difference is due to that of the distance between the seismometer and occurence of debris flow.
