Abstract

In the rivers throughout the country, periodic transverse surveying by actual measurement is being carried out for the purpose of planning river management and river improvement. However, surveying under the water has caused danger in working especially in a rapid river, and it takes a great deal of time to measure one survey line. To solve this problem, river survey was carried out by using ALB which is a recently-developed technique and can measure under the water surface. In this study, in order to create a cross section from point cloud data by using ALB which can perform underwater measurement in recent years, the accuracy verification with the actual measurement was carried out and the transverse map drawing was made in surveying under the water surface. We also considered the application to river management that makes full use of the characteristics of aviation laser measurement.
