Alluvial fan is the transit point between mountainous area and plane area, and affected by these two areas. In addition, it has been very difficult how to manage rivers on an alluvial fan because of their steep slope and unstable course.
It is essential to examine and maintain the appropriate style of each city on each alluvial fan in consideration of future population decrease. Therefore, the characteristics of the land use on each alluvial fan were investigated by focusing on the geology and the feature of each river basin.
In order to understand the characteristics, we took three approaches; coloring topography maps, field observation and sampling riverbed material.
Consequently, it was revealed that the characteristic of each alluvial fan can be classified into three patterns, volcanic rock, sedimentary rock with steep slope and sedimentary rock with gentle slope.
