Abstract

There have been problems that research interest of university hydraulicians is somewhat different from that of river engineers. For this reason, academic expertise accumulated was not much utilized by river engineers and vice versa. To improve these issues, university researchers and river engineers of the Government formed a joint research group in the River Conversazioni (Kasen kondankai) of Hydraulic Committee, JSCE and did research together in the field of rivers for problems to be solved. The paper summarizes outcomes, assessment and issues of the joint research performed for 6 years and presents future prospect of the joint research.
