The objective of this study is to clear effects of spur dikes on steam by hydraulic model experimental. The experimental had made some conditions of setting up Seigyu at confluence and a curving part. Also training jetty and cross dyke were set up on river channel in order to compare with that. According to these results, we studied about hydraulic characteristics.
As a result experimental, Seigyu shows the functions dividing into two in confluence, which is as same as case of training jetty, and shifting core of flow in bend, and it is found that Seigyu can control the stream, and discharge capacity decreases because of cross section area gets narrow by Seigyu and cross dyke. Consequently, these cause rising water level up-stream. As an index that shows resistance characteristics of Seigyu, drag coefficient CD was amounted to nearly 1,which is as same as case of cylinder. Roughness coefficient n is 1.1 or 1.25 time as compared with that in case of not to set up these.
