This study analyzes the relationship between the time series changes of surrounding situation, gathering disaster information and inhabitants’ consciousness in process of typhoon approach instancing the case of a resident of Koriyama in flood by Typhoon 6 in July, 2002 by a questionnaire survey. The main results are in the followings.
Evacuation and action for protecting their household goods against inundation arise from recognition that it is at the calamity time, and these actions have tendency to be suspended until the recognition became certain. In the uncertain situation, most inhabitants take action of accumulation of disaster information, and this action puts forward the time for receiving some disaster information.
