Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the contents of instruction manuals on the setting technique of setters, an important position in volleyball, and to present important instruction points for beginners to improve their skills. Instruction points for setters regarding setting technique were extracted from the instruction manual and discussed to present instruction points for setters regarding setting technique that are important for beginners to improve their skills. The results of this study showed that setting movements are not only related to five aspects, but also plays in which many parts of the body are linked together, and that it is necessary to teach each part carefully in stages. It is also considered effective to provide detailed feedback and use expressions that make it easy for beginners to imagine the movements. It is expected that the results obtained from this study will be of help in instructing setters at a beginner level.
