As the demand for the use of radiation and radioactive materials in the medical and industrial fields is expanding, the risk of exposure from them is increasing. While nurses are taking care of patients and residents who are exposed to radiation, they may not have enough knowledge of radiation safety protocols, due to a lack of radiation education. This paper reports on suggestions for radiation education for nurses based on visits to medical schools in Belarus, a country that experienced a large-scale nuclear disaster in the past.
