The purpose of this study was to identify items for the development of the Guidelines of Public Health Nursing Practice in the Promotion of Long-Term Care Prevention Systems. Qualitative data were collected from 8 public health nurses who have worked in an administrative capacity or in the Community General Support Center and who have published research about long-term care prevention through a semi-structured interview process. The number of items (52) was reduced to 47 after verifying with the literature.
Furthermore, in order to refine these items, a mail questionnaire survey was carried out on 14 experts who were researchers and public health nurses with at least 9 years experience. The Content Validity Index was 0.93. As a result, 42 items remained after some grouping and selection by the second questionnaire survey.
These selected items covered public health nursing practice processes and a collaborative approach to care. A mail survey will be conducted in the future to assess reliability and validity in order to develop the Guidelines of Public Health Nursing Practice in the Promotion of Long-Term Care Prevention Systems.
