Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the intent to leave of care workers with high career commitment and “KAIGOKAN” in an Organization that Ignores Personal Opinion.

Twelve thousand questionnaires were administered to care workers chosen from 6,117 nursing homes through two-stage stratified random sampling. The number of valid responses was 2,520 (valid response rate: 21.9%).

The result of logistic regression analysis showed that the intent to leave of care workers with high career commitment was related to Reflection and Evaluation of Care (odds ratio 1.167, 95% confidence interval, 1.004−1.355) and over 40 years old (odds ratio 0.443, 95% confidence interval, 0.230−0.853) if they were working at under an Organization that Ignores Personal Opinion.

This study suggested that care workers with high career commitment do show an intent to leave an Organization that Ignores Personal Opinion by the “KAIGOKAN”.
